Word Art

Image
I made word dart based on things that make me happy and are good for my wellbeing. I chose a horse because I've been with horses since before I was born. I chose my words because they are all special to me in their own way. I chose music and piano because music makes me feel better or worse when I'm sad and I like playing the piano because I like the thrill of learning a new song easily or after a lot of work to find the key that creates the right sound. I chose my family and friends because they make me happy and they make me laugh. I chose art because I like when I do a really good drawing and I can feel proud. I chose devices because they give me something to do when I'm bored. I chose books because I enjoy reading.

Ipo The Cockatoo

Image
Today, June the 4th 2021, we got a surprise visit from Nanny Andrea and her cockatoo Ipo. Ipo had many health conditions Nanny Andrea talked about such as broken wings, bad blood, and a broken toe. Nanny Andrea also said he was an omnivore, an animal that eats meat and plants. Humans are also omnivores. We got to pat Ipo and learn about his many journeys such as being a star on 'Fanimals'. The students in his art class love him. He wears a poncho because of his blood disorder as he gets cold. Nanny Andrea and a vet have to pluck some of his feathers because they go bad. Ipo enjoys chewing on paintbrushes and pencils. He also likes listening to music. He came from Wellington. When they left we watched the episode of 'Fanimals' he was included in. It featured his student saying kind and wholesome things about him.

DMIC Fejioa

Image
On the 17th of May 2021 We did a DMIC problem about Feijoas. We had to figure out how much money she made all together and for each day how many of each bag she. I did this with Lulu, Lilley and Jess. The 1 kg bags were $2, 2 kg bags were $3.50 and 5 kg bags were $6. On Monday she made $13.50, On Tuesday she made $47, on Wednesday she made $25, on Thursday she made $34, on Friday she went to the movies, on Saturday she made $42, and on Sunday she decided she had enough money. To figure out how much money she had we added all the costs together separately then added those numbers together and ended up with $161.50. Then we had to figure out the second question which was also simple. We used Guess And Check. On Monday she sold 2 1 kg bags, 1 5 kg bag, and one 2 kg bag. That came up to $13.50. On Tuesday she sold 20 1 kg bags and 2 2 kg bags which was $47. On Wednesday she sold 2 2 kg bags and 3 5 kg bags which was $25. On Thursday she sold 5 5 kg bags and 2 1 kg bags which was $34. ...

Rã Haka Day

Friday the 21st of May, we had Rã Haka day and Pink Shirt day were combined. Quite a lot of people wore pink to support the anti-bullying message. Including me. I wore a pink tutu and feathery boa. Most of the day we learned a waiata and the college haka. The waiata was easy to learn for me and we did it about 10 times before we moved onto the haka that went alongside the waiata. That was harder to learn. All the moves were confusing for me and I'm still pretty bad at it.  After break one we split up into our house groups to preform the haka as a house. Kauri, my house was assigned the small gym I was one of the most dressed up in the whole house as most people didn't even dress up and wore normal clothes. That was ok though. When we were done our 20 minute practice went to the big gym. It took about 5 minutes for every house to arrive but when they did we began. Of course Kauri had to go first which was annoying. I did the same moves and stood next to the same people as in t...
